First I wanted to say my heart is heavy and saddened by the tornado that struck Joplin, MO last night. I have friends that I went to college with at Ozark Christian that still live there. The devastation is horrible and my heart and prayers go out to everyone...
I was able to go back to OK to see my family for a few days over Mother's Day weekend. My parents and I along with my aunt and uncle met at the Pink House in Claremore that was built in 1902. Mom and I had High Tea which is one of my favorites fun things to do.
My nephew Eric turned 11 and loves Go Karts so that's what we did for his birthday. I tell him he looks like a mini Steve Nash except cuter! The first pic. is of Eric, the 2nd is my dad and that's me in the 3rd shot.
My cousin's son Josh graduated with his doctorate in physical therapy from OU/Tulsa. I used to babysit him! I am so proud of the young man that he has become. The first pic. is of Josh and his mother Suzanne. The 2nd is of Josh and I and the 3rd are my two cousins Suzanne and Kellie.
I feel truly blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my parents. Suzanne and Kellie are not just my cousins they are true friends to me and although we don't see each other often we pick right up where we left off last. I was able to see both of my brothers families as well but didn't have the quality time I would have liked to spend with them. I have four amazing nieces as well!
Wow! So much devastation in the world this year... Make an effort to communicate with those that you love and let them know how much you appreciate them. Life is short and goes by so fast. If you need to make amends, then take that first step in doing so.
Much Love,
Robin
